Digital Connexion, the Reliance-backed joint venture, has unveiled an ambitious plan to pour $11 billion into a cutting-edge artificial intelligence data centre ecosystem in Andhra Pradesh. The announcement came on Wednesday, marking one of the largest AI-infrastructure commitments ever made in the state.
According to the company, the investment will be deployed over the next five years, culminating in the creation of a one-gigawatt AI data centre campus in Visakhapatnam by 2030. The project is expected to significantly strengthen India’s digital backbone, catering to the rapidly growing demand for high-performance computing, cloud infrastructure, and AI-driven technologies.
To formalize the initiative, Digital Connexion has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board, paving the way for phased development beginning in the coming years.
Digital Connexion is a powerful three-way partnership between Brookfield, Reliance Industries, and Digital Realty, formed with the goal of accelerating India’s digital infrastructure expansion through advanced AI-enabled data centres.
